“KOKANEE” is the original Tandem Trolling Fly Arctic Fox produced. In response to guide requests for a longer fly to imitate juvenile kokanee in western North American lakes. The fly has a black fur top over gray over white fur and body. The flash is UV mylar with a few strands of holographic purple flash. This gives a UV halo around the fly in the water. It is also a good version of many black over white bait fish found in most deep water lakes. Both of the hooks are plated Gamakatsu meant for salt water use.
The tandem hooks freely move and articulate, unlike many fixed tandem hooks, making these flies look like a real minnow swimming along!
This fly is tied with a pair of #2 Gamakatsu plated hooks suitable for saltwater use. Rinse well in freshwater after use in the salt to maintain their durability.

Why Arctic Fox Fur?
These flies are tied with Arctic Fox fur which has hollow, air-filled hair shafts similar to a polar bear that's pigment free and can be dyed "hot" colors.
This fur is soft but tough. Fur is meant to protect an animal whereas marabou is a feather which is dainty and meant for flight. At Arctic Fox, we needed a tough material so that could be tied onto salt water hooks and have a fly that will stand up.
